Why would I need it?

Who can Apply?
Any person with a valid residence permit can activate it. There is no minimum age, however the person must have their own mobile phone number, as it will be linked to the CMD account.
Step-by-Step guide
Important Note: You can only activate the CMD online if you already possess a Portuguese Citizen Card (Cartão de Cidadão). If you do not have a Citizen Card (e.g., you are using a Residence Permit or Passport), you must activate the CMD in person.

- Bring Documents: Ensure you have all physical documents listed below.
- In-Person Verification: A government official will verify your identity and link your mobile number to your account.
